Azure Sur-Tech's Parylene coating is suitable for coating electronic components, such as magetic cores and rings (ferrite materials).  The coated electronic components generally show good wear resistance, corrosion resistance, silky appearance and touch in addition to the higher dielectric strength and breakdown voltage compared to the ones coated with epoxy resin.  Soft ferrites are generally small in size with excellent performance which has been commonly use in numerous applications.  Parylene coating is an ideal technolgy to provide a "thin and well" protection against the corrosion, moisture and possible grinding from the service environment.  

Rare-earth magnetic products, such as neodymium magnets and samarium-cobalt magnets, are widely adopted in automobiles, home appliances, health care products, motors and other devices.  Rare-earth magnets are extremely brittle and also vulnerable to corrosion and oxidation, so they are usually plated or coated to protect them from breaking, chipping or crumbling into powder.  Rare-earth magnets coated with Parylene show excellent endurance against corrosion of salt fog test up to 300-500 hours compared to 70-100 hours for the ones with electroplating or electrophoresis surface treatment.

TDK employed the Parylene coating to protect its rare-earth magnetic materials since early 1990s.  Nowadays, most of the manufacturers of neodymium magents apply Parylene film onto their products for protection as well.
