Owing to its capability of resistance against moisture, corrosion, chemical solvents, electrostatic charge accumulation, Parylene coating is commonly use to protect silicone and rubber components or parts.   It protects silicone and rubber material from dust and dirt adhesion to the surface, reaction with solvents and significantly reduce surface friction of components which are critical to the medical-grade products, such as catheters and medical seals.  It is also antifungal and anti-weathering to components.
